European legislation requires  that every home that is marketed for sale must have an Energy Performace Certificate (EPC), which details the properties energy efficiency.  In order to issue a certificate it is necessary for a survey of the property to be conducted either by a qualified Energy Assessor or Home Inspector.  An EPC is also required for rental property and commercial premises.

   (HCR) which contains an EPC.
